Jerry M. Wells, 79, Rossiter, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at home.

He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Austintown, Ohio, a son of the late Lewis and Grace (Delp) Wells.

Dec. 31, 1954, he married Nettie L. Calvert Wells, who preceded him in death Oct. 23, 2008.

Mr. Wells retired as a final repairman for the General Motors Lordstown Plant in Youngstown, Ohio, after 20 years of service.

He was Protestant by faith.

Mr. Wells was a veteran, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 435, AMVETS and Domain of the Golden Dragon.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Cheryl Vrewton and husband Kevin of Enon Valley, Kathy Mead of Punxsutawney, Teresa Main and husband Dennis of North Lima, Ohio, and Linda Wells of Rossiter; two sons, Jerry Wells Jr. and wife Barbara of Austintown, Ohio, and Steve Wells of Punxsutawney; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Wells Jr.; and three sisters, Helen Gordon, Cora Kane and Virginia Wells.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating.

Military honors will be awarded by the American Legion Post No. 435.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
