Jeffrey Scott Marshall Sr., 53, Punxsutawney, died Friday, March 11, 2011.Â
He was born Oct. 17, 1957, in Inglewood, Calif., a son of Gloria Jean West, who survives, and the late John Homer Marshall Jr.
Mr. Marshall was a graduate of LaQuinta High School in Fountain Valley, Calif. He then attended Golden West College and Cypress Junior College.
He worked as a creative director, most recently with IUP, teaching the Art Masters Program, specifically for art and theatre. He had previously taught art to elementary and high school Punxsutawney Christian School students.
Mr. Marshall had also previously worked at Walt Disney as an â€śImagineer," Warner Brothers, Paramount Studios and at Chevron, as a graphic artist.
He touched many lives by his own love of art, and the willingness to share his knowledge and talents with others. His creative mind and hands will be deeply missed.
In addition to his mother, surviving relatives include his fiancĂ©e, Frances Robinson of Kentucky; two children, Jeffrey Scott Marshall Jr. and fiancĂ©e Melissa A. Ramsey of Dana Point, Calif., and Mandy Henderson and husband Dude of Round Rock, Texas; a brother, Ted Marshall and wife Sharry of Berkley, Calif.; two sisters, Marilyn Clements and Nancy Marshall of Orange, Calif.; two step-brothers, Scott McBean of Orange, and Kelly McBean of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Dylan, Big D, Dustin, Tammi, Tyler, Dalton, Trinity, Devon, Rylee and Reagan; several nieces and nephews; and he also leaves behind four "Phantastic Phils," Ms. Liberty, Fireman Phil, McPhil and Coalminer Phil.
A memorial service officiated by Butch White will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Punxsutawney Christian School gymnasium.Â
Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Marshall's memory to an organization for children diagnosed with cancer that are given the opportunity to express themselves creatively through art and theatre.
