BROOKVILLE — The Jefferson County Commissioners reviewed and approved the 2013 county budget at their meeting on Tuesday.
The newly passed budget includes a tax increase.
The budget had been placed on display at the county offices for 21 days prior to the vote.
The tax increase clocks in at one quarter of a mill, which determines tax amounts based on property values.
By way of example, a property valued at $50,000 will now be party to a tax increase of $12.50 for the upcoming year.
