Jeff Tech evacuated temporarily after bathroom bomb threat

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP — Students were temporarily evacuated from the Jefferson County-DuBois Area Vocational-Technical School at 576 Vo Tech Rd. in Winslow Township on Monday morning as the result of a bomb threat written on the bathroom wall.

DuBois-based Pennsylvania State Police reported Monday that the threat was reported at 9:25 a.m. and that the actors are undetermined.

Police said the actors wrote, "There are bombs in the school," in a restroom area of the school.

The school was temporarily evacuated, and a state police explosives dog was brought to the scene.

The dog searched the area for any forms of explosives with negative results, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Reynoldsville Fire Department.
