Jean D. Geer Carroll, 85, Brookville, formerly of Sigel, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.

She was born Aug. 2, 1925, in Pitcarin, a daughter of the late Ivan C. and Rebecca Dias.

She was married to Ernest S. Geer Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1963. She then married James W. Carroll, who preceded her in death July 17, 1991.

Mrs. Geer Carroll was a homemaker and former owner of Geer Tree Service Inc. of Brookville.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Betty Hays and husband Jack of Brookville, Linda Shaffer and husband Wayne of Waterloo, N.Y., and Brenda Valin Black and husband Dave of Brookville; two sons, Ernest S. Geer and wife Rose of Brookville, and Robert A. Geer and wife Liz of Brookville; a step-son, Delbert Geer and wife Martha of Knox Dale; a sister, Vivian Maurer and husband Cecil of Melbourne, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth L. Geer; a step-daughter, Connie Anderson; a brother; and three sisters.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy McConville officiating.

Interment will be in Bethel-Geer Cemetery, Pine Creek Township.
