Janice Marlene Wagner, 54, Stroudsburg, and formerly of Smicksburg, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Easton after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

She was born Sept. 13, 1957, in Kittanning, a daughter of Vernon K. and Betty Jean (Barrett) Lightner.

May 15, 1998, she married Jeff Wagner of Stroudsburg, who survives.

Mrs. Wagner graduated from Dayton High School, Dayton, and Lenape Vocational Technical School in Ford City.

In addition to her parents and husband, surviving relatives include two brothers, Kenneth Lightner and wife Melissa of Smicksburg and Daniel Lightner and wife Linda of Wharton, N.J.; two sisters, Sandra Mills and husband Harry and Barbara Lightner, all of Smicksburg; six nieces and nephews, Laura Lightner of Smicksburg, Megan Lightner of Smicksburg, Kayla Lightner of Wharton, N.J., Eric Rummell and wife Kayla of Montague, N.J., Cpl. Brandon Lightner, stationed in Japan, and Justin Mills of Smicksburg; and her beloved dog, Britney.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Lightner, March 18, 1979; and a daughter, Michelle Lee Dalessio, June 4, 1982.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are under the direction of the William H. Clark Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg.
