James Stephen Lesnick, 57

James Stephen Lesnick, 57, of Pompano Beach, Fla., passed away at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Mr. Lesnick was born on Oct. 10, 1955, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Francis D. and Caroline (Walchack) Lesnick.

He was a 1973 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School and a 1977 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in hotel management. He was also a member of St. Pious Roman Catholic Church in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Mr. Lesnick held the position of concierge at the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

He was named Concierge of the Year in 1996 and also in 2005.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Maureen Freas and husband Flip, and Janice Blose and husband Jim, both of Punxsutawney; a brother, Paul Lesnick of DuBois; nieces Deanna Blose Miller and Heather Blose Lasser; nephews Paul Freas and Jim Blose; great-nephews Hudson and Harrison Miller; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stephen and Mary (Ronko) Lesnick; and his maternal grandparents, Oswald and Bertha (Piernick) Walchack.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic Church in Punxsutawney, with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as Celebrant.

Family and friends will be received from noon until the time of service on Saturday in the Gathering Space, located in Ss. Cosmas & Damian Catholic Church.
