James R. “Bob” McKee, Sr., 83

James R. McKee, 83, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013.

He was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Mahaffey, a son of the late James A. and Isabel Mae (Hall) McKee.

He was first married to Norma (Allenbaugh) McKee, who preceded him in death on Jan. 19, 1991.

He then married Isabel M. (Kaufman) McKee, who also preceded him in death, on May 15, 1998.

He was a member of the English Lutheran Church.

He served in the U.S. Army and received the Berlin Air Lift Medal during his service.

He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart.

He first worked at Chambers Hardware and then worked for Ragley’s Hardware.

He then worked for Stockdale Mining Supply, where he retired from in 1996.

Surviving relatives include three sons, James R. McKee, Jr. and wife Susan of Lauderhill, Fla., Gary McKee and wife Donna of Coral Springs, Fla., and Richard McKee and wife Tammy of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Dave McKee of Mahaffey; a sister, Myrtle Mahaffey of Mahaffey; six grandchildren, Aaron McKee, Ryan McKee, Daniel McKee, Gary McKee, Renee Miller and Benjamin McKee; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first and second wives.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
