James L. "Larry" Wright, 72

James L. "Larry" Wright, 72, of Mahaffey, passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Wright was born July 1, 1940, in Clearfield, a son of the late Ross J. Wright and Mae F. (Bouch) Wright.

He married Edna C.(Hollen) Wright, who survives, of Mahaffey.

Larry was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church in Punxsutawney.

Before retirement, he was the owner and operator of J. L. Wright Backhoe Rentals in Virginia. He also worked for Washington Gas & Light Co. in Washington, D.C.

He enjoyed fishing and his dog, Patches. Larry moved home from Woodbridge, Va., to spend more time with his beloved family.

He liked working and spending time with his friends. He was known to never tell a lie but was an expert at stretching the truth.

In addition to his wife, Edna, surviving relatives include five sons, James L. Wright and wife Elenora, and Gary D. Wright and wife Debi, all of Stafford, Va., James T. Ozio and wife Patti of Altoona, Thomas E. Ozio and wife Teresa of Raleigh, N.C., and Mark R. Wright and wife Heather of Frederick, Md.; three daughters, Debra Kay Cressley and husband Charles of Punxsutawney, and Vicki A. Bunting and husband Clay, and Michelle Kay Beckman and Michael, all of Stafford, Va.; three brothers, Robert Wright and wife Mary of McGees Mills, and Daniel Wright and wife Carol, and Ronald Wright and wife Patti, all of Mahaffey; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dawn Marie Wright; a grandson, Woody Mallory; and a brother, Tomas Wright.

Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.

A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at the funeral home with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
