James G. Murray, 72

James G. Murray, 72, of San Clemente, Calif., passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.

James was born July 22, 1941, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Leslie J. and Marie (Smith) Murray.

On June 27, 1959, he married the former Juleann Sweeney, who survives.

He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in San Clemente.

Before retiring, Jim was a carpenter.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hiking, camping and traveling. He loved the ocean.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Alicia Gulley of Azusa, Calif., Beth Moore and fiancé Mike Cohen of San Clemente, Shannon Scott and husband Tim of Sonora, Calif., Patrick J. Murray and wife Deborah of Poway, Calif., and J. Michael Murray of Fresno, Calif.; one sister, Vickie Spencer and husband Richard of Punxsutawney; and two brothers, Leslie Joseph Murray of Trade City and Robert D. Murray and wife Berenice of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul T. Murray and Charles B. Murray.
