Jack L. Lowmaster, 76

Jack L. Lowmaster, 76, of Glen Campbell, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at UMPC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

The son of William “Lee” and Vera Hazel (Spencer) Lowmaster, he was born on Oct. 4, 1937 in Banks Township, Indiana County.

Jack was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School Class of 1955.

He attended the Glen Campbell United Methodist Church.

Prior to moving back to the local area following his retirement, Jack had been employed 42 years as an iron worker foreman.

He was a member of the Local Union No. 33 and had primarily worked for E. G. Smith Company of Pittsburgh.

In his free time, he enjoyed spending hours outdoors going hunting, fishing and camping.

Jack married his wife, the late Janet (Sheesley) Lowmaster, on Aug. 30, 1958. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2008.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jack is survived by his four children, Bruce Lowmaster and wife Cheri of Glen Campbell, Sharon Barnett and husband Martin of Ontario, N.Y., Mark Lowmaster of Rochester, N.Y., and Diana Lowmaster of Greensburg, Pa.; his four grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie Williams and Joshua and Courtney Lowmaster; and his six great-grandchildren, Austin Williams, Jayden, Isabella and Isaac Supersad and Jacob and Madeline Williams. He is also survived by his sister, Betty H. “Betty Bee” Bender of Pittsburgh.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janet, on July 11, 2009; his two sisters, Lorna Miller and Velma Bouch; and his two brothers, Carl “Hoppy” Lowmaster and William “Leonard” Lowmaster.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at the Glen Campbell United Methodist Church
until the 11 a.m. memorial service with Pastor John White and Pastor Tina Keller officiating.
