Jack B. Elkin, 88

Jack B. Elkin, 88, Delmont, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his home.

He was born Nov. 2, 1923, in Trade City.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Mr. Elkin was a member of the Lions and the BPO Elks, and he was a 50-year member of John W. Jenks Lodge No. 534, Free and Accepted Masons.

Surviving relatives include twin sons, Robert of South Carolina and Raymond of North Carolina; two daughters, Vickie and Jacqueline; five grandchildren, Kim and husband Kyle of Alaska, Jason and wife Naomi of South Carolina, Lindsay and husband Dennis of North Carolina, Eric of North Carolina and Matthew of Greensburg; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, who died in 1995; and a sister, Nancy Wilson of Texas.

There will be no public visitation.

Interment will be at noon Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Roundtop Cemetery
Full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Navy and the Jefferson County Veterans' Honor Guard.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Heartland Hospice, 3520 Route 130, Building 3, Irwin, Pa. 15642.
