It was Make-A-Wish night at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex on Saturday, as IUP Athletics raise money for the organization annually. And during halftime in the game between the IUP Crimson Hawks and the California University Vulcans, one local four-year-old battling leukemia got his wish. Dane Stear of Punxsutawney will be traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with family, and he was surprised during halftime by Make-A-Wish of Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, along with members of the IUP football and softball teams and the IUP ROTC. The Stear family said they were thankful the trip, as well as for Make-A-Wish, along with all the support the community provided. Pictured is Dane (seated), along with his parents, Derek and Elizabeth, and his brothers Denver (five) and Darin (two) with his gifts from the ROTC and softball teams.
