It’s that time of year - the Big Run Peeper Banquet is almost here!

BIG RUN — We've had Punxsy Phil tell us that it is going to be a long winter. The Old Farmer's Almanac said the same thing, as did all of the weather gurus from The Weather Channel and AccuWeather — but how about the Big Run Peepers?

The little frogs that are barely the size of your fingernail are sticking with the popular forecast of a long winter, and they will peep on April 8, according to the Big Run Peeper watcher Jeff London, owner of Big Run Carpet.

The Peeper Banquet is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, March 16, with the social hour beginning at 5 p.m at the Big Run War Memorial building.
