Irene Catherine “Cathy” Ruth Hamner, 66, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Ligonier, a daughter of the late John and Elsie (Queer) Brown.

Sept. 22, 1972, she married Ronald E. Hamner, who survives.

Mrs. Hamner attended the Assembly of God Church, and she enjoyed her family and bluegrass music.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two children, Chad E. Hamner and wife Shanna of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Cheryl Hamner; three grandchildren, Dakota Greeley, Kamryn Hamner and Kyle Schinkel; three brothers, Lyle, Merle and Calvin Brown; and two sisters, Ginger Trentini and Marcy Brown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Brown; and a sister, Becky Brown.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney.
