Homer Charles “Chuck” Brocious, Jr., 60

Homer Charles “Chuck” Brocious, Jr., 60, of New Bethlehem, died suddenly Thursday morning, Dec. 20, 2012, in Wheeling, W.V., while working there.

He was born Feb. 13, 1952, in Punxsutawney, a son of Homer C., Sr. and Lucienne B. (Bullers) Brocious.

Chuck was married on March 3, 1979, to Janet A. (Elkin), who survives.

He was a supervisor for Doverspike Coal from 1970 to 1996, Shaw Coal Co. from 1996 to 2000 and then an equipment operator for Baker Hughes.

He also loved to farm and be with his family, who meant the world to him.

In addition to his wife, Janet A. Brocious of New Bethlehem, surviving relatives include his mother, Lucienne Brocious of Mayport; a daughter, Katie Brooks and husband Denny of Punxsutawney; two sons, Steven Brocious and fiancée Missy Hurrelbrink of Shippenville and Dustin Brocious and fiancée Bobbi Jo Vandervort of New Bethlehem; four grandchildren, Colton, Ashley, Jessica and Tyler; a sister, Connie Doverspike and husband Gary of Ringgold; and a brother, Ernest Brocious and wife Nancy of Brookville.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Homer C. Brocious, Sr.; two sisters, Nancy Brocious and Martha Scovel; and a brother, Ralph Brocious.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom McKee officiating.

A private interment will be held on his farm in New Bethlehem.
