Henry J. “Guy” Brink, 84
Henry J. “Guy” Brink, 84, Glen Campbell, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 13, 1927, in Glen Campbell, Banks Township, a son of the late Edward “Fats” and Anna (Janocha) Brink.
April 19, 1952, he married his wife of 59 years, Charlotte C. (Hollen) Brink, who survives..
Mr. Brink served as a private in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1946 to 1947.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of the Resurrection in Glen Campbell, and was a coal miner in the deep coal mines for 36 years, retiring from the Chestnut Ridge Mining Company.
Mr. Brink was a dedicated family man. In his spare time, he liked to go hunting and spend time gardening. He also greatly enjoyed his career as a coal miner.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two children, Joseph H. “Bud” Brink and wife JoAnn (Swartzlander) of Glen Campbell, and Regina B. Gardner and husband Van, all of Glen Campbell; a sister, Edna Miloser of Glen Campbell; a brother, Anthony Brink and wife Beatrice of Glen Campbell; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Jordan Gardner, on July 28, 2011; and two brothers, Walter and Joseph “Tay” Brink.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at the Church of the Resurrection.
Interment will follow at the Church of the Resurrection Cemetery, Glen Campbell.
