Helen L. Keck, 92

Helen L. Keck, 92, Punxsutawney, went home to her eternal home on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012.

She was born May 14, 1920, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Harvey C. and Amanda (Braniff) Lyle.

She married Alfred E. Keck on Aug. 7, 1939, and they had four children.

He passed away on Aug. 2, 2008.

She was a long-time member of the Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church and a long-time resident of Cherry Street, Punxsutawney.

She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Surviving relatives include three daughters and a son, Joy Heitzenrater and husband Don of Punxsutawney, Penny Rogers of Columbus, Ohio, Dennis B. Keck of Punxsutawney and Susan Hurd and husband Dennis of Clearfield; a sister, Imogene Carr of Allentown; a brother, George Lyle and wife Naomi of Punxsutawney; grandchildren Karen Lewis and husband James, Kathy Taladay, Jill Bullers and husband Mark, Michael Heitzenrater and wife Susan, Stephen Rogers and wife Gaye, Lori Menges and husband Mark, and Jennifer Marmon and husband Temil; and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeffrey Hurd; brothers Leroy, Clair, John, Robert, James and Donald Lyle; and sisters Naomi Velia, Margaret White, Mabel Palmer and Ethel Frye.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor James Kusko officiating.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Mrs. Keck’s memory, to the donor’s choice.
