Helen J. Buck "Teetie," 91, Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, May 30, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 16, 1919, in Foxburg, Clarion County, a daughter of the late John Sherman and Mary Adalide (Best) McCoy, who moved to Punxsutawney in 1932.

July 5, 1937, she married Rufus L. Buck, who preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1973.

They had two daughters, Rosalie and Sandra, and moved their family to Cleveland in 1952.

Mrs. Buck is the last surviving member of her immediate family and her late husband's family. She enjoyed sewing, making her own and her family's clothing. She loved to crochet and do crossword puzzles, but her favorite pastime was shopping.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Rosalie Wensel of Numine and Sandra Simko of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; grandchildren Janet Maines and husband Charles of Big Run, James Pahner and wife Kathie of Grottoes, Va., Joyce Hetrick and husband Robert of Home, Joann Lockhart of Georgeville, Jesse Pahner and wife Cheryl of Medina, Ohio, Kathy Long and husband Al of Dover, Del., Michael Simko and wife Sue of Conley Flats, Ohio, Mark Simko and wife Clair of Wadsworth, Ohio, Daniel Simko and wife Dianne of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Sharon Cebula and husband David of Akron, Ohio; 18 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three great- great-step-grandchildren; one great-great-great-step-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Alan Miller in 2004; a nephew, Richard Kuntz in 1968; and two son-in-laws, Douglas Pahner in 2001, and Andrew Simko in 2009.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Services will follow immediately after the viewing, with Pastor Mark Swoger officiating.

Interment will be private at Circle Hill Cemetery.
