Helen E. Dinger, 70, of Grove City,previously of Harrisville, Pa., died Wednesday May 8, 2013, at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler, Pa.

She was born on May 12, 1942, in Knox, Pa., a daughter of Warren C.
Shaffer and Emma A. (Reed) Shaffer.

She was a 1960 graduate of Keystone High School in Knox, Pa.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of West Unity Community Church in Harrisville, Pa.

Helen was a member of the Ladies’ Missionary Society of the church.

She enjoyed fishing with her husband, crossword puzzles, reading, bingo and playing cards.

She helped at Seneca Hills Bible Camp, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was married on April 29, 1961, to James R. Dinger, who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 2012.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Theresa L. Johnston and husband Boyd E. of Harrisville, Pa., Catherine E. Young and husband Daniel L. of League City, Texas, and Robin L. Leach and husband Todd A. of Kemah, Texas; a son, James I. Dinger and wife Doris of New Galilee, Pa.; seven granddaughters; three grandsons; two sisters, Irene Karns and husband James of Harrisville, Pa., and Rose Chambers of Grove City, Pa., and two brothers, Chester Shaffer and wife Lynda of Knox, Pa., and Sam Shaffer of Polk, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and four sisters, Dorothy Kraft, Louise Morrison, Shirley Sloat and Lois Shaffer.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville, Pa., and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at West Unity Community Church with Pastor Boyd D. Smith, her pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville, Pa.
