Helen B. (Hamilton) Baun, 96

Helen B. (Hamilton) Baun, 96, Rochester Mills, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Rochester Mills, a daughter of the late John Wilson and Annie Jane (Simpson) Hamilton.

She was married to John Olen Baun, who preceded her in death Feb. 25, 2000.

Mrs. Baun formerly attended the United Presbyterian Church of Rochester Mills. She was a former member of the Electra Rebecca Lodge of Rochester Mills.

She was a lifelong resident of the Rochester Mills area.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Peggy Work of Punxsutawney and Dorothy Elkin and husband Donald of Columbia, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Baun was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Baun; two sisters, Rebecca McGuire and Dorothy Peterson; and two brothers, Blaine Hamilton and John Hamilton.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home with Pastor Darla Ravennaugh officiating.

The Baun family has suggested that memorial contributions in memory of Helen D. (Hamilton) Baun would be greatly appreciated to the American Heart Association.
