Hazel M. Cielo, 94, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012.

She was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Etna, Pa., a daughter of the late Salvadore and Amelia (Nero) Urso.

In August of 1934, she married Kelly R. Cielo, who preceded her in death on April 29, 2003.

They were the former owners of Kelly Cielo Ford Motor Sales Inc.

She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, gardening, bead work, reading and cooking and baking.

She was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Nancy Gotwald and husband Carl of Punxsutawney; a son, Kenneth Cielo and wife Karolyn of Arizona; two sisters, Violet Maffeo of Apollo, Pa. and Clara Ireland and husband William of Forrest Hills, Md.; three brothers, Leonard Urso of Md., Joseph Urso and wife Charlotte of Md., and Peter Urso of Md.; four grandchildren, Kelly Ann Cielo of Harrisburg, Amber Cielo of Fresno, Ca., Ronald B. Cielo of Punxsutawney, and Kevin K. Cielo of Punxsutawney; two step grandsons, Carl Gotwald Jr. of Brookville and Eric Gotwald of Rossiter; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Sam Urso and Eugene Urso.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and also from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at SS.C.D. with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the S.S.C.D. School.
