Hazel Johnson Reed, 96, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, surrounded by family.

She was the owner of The Nut Shop in Punxsutawney from 1936 to 1963.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Verla Miller and son-in law Eddie Miller of Mahaffey; three grandchildren, LuAnn King of Slidell, La., David Miller III of Fort Lewis, Wash., and Cynthia Hale of Nashville, Tenn.; her step-children, Ray Reed, Russell Reed, Mildred Schreckengost, Carlene Heitzenrater and Faye Dinger; many loved great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her dear, sweet friends, Anne Wallis and Bette Wallwork.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Everett A. Johnson and Lloyd A. Reed; and a step-daughter, Shirley Bish.

A celebration of life service will be held in March.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
