Hazel J. Hinderliter, 99

Hazel J. Hinderliter, 99, formerly of Frostburg, died Sunday Jan. 8, 2012, in Towson, Md., where she lived with her daughter Nedra for three years.

She was born Aug. 28, 1912, a daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche (Anthony) Palmer.

Dec. 3, 1931, she married Kermit J. Hinderliter, who preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1994.

She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Surviving relatives include a son, James Hinderliter of Poland, Ohio; a daughter, Nedra Singca and husband Edmundo of Towson; three grandchildren, Sheree, James and Timothy; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler and Emily; and a sister, Betty Byers.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William, James and Ward Palmer; and four sisters; Helen Reed, Mildred Ananea, Martha Depp and Dorothy Cowie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Young officiating.

Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
