Hazel D. Freedline, 90

Hazel D. Freedline, 90, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Newtonburg, Clearfield, County, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Mrs. Freedline was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Patchinville, a daughter of the late Carl T. and Daisy L. (Solley) Sunderlin.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Freedline, on Aug. 16, 1993.

Hazel was Protestant by faith.

She was a member of the Westover Golden Agers, Mahaffey Fire Company Ladies Auxillary, Board of Elections for Bell Township and the Bell Township Grange.

She enjoyed bingo, quilting, sewing, baking and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, H. Louise Deyarmin of Punxsutawney and Barbara J. Sebastian and husband Frank of Indiana; a brother, Arthur Sunderlin and wife Ginny of Fairport, N.Y.; three sisters, Emma Jane Burns of Bradford, Alice Jean Westover of Westover and Geraldine Lee and husband Glen of Mahaffey; four grandchildren, Deneen Tugman and husband William of Stafford, Va., Janet Deyarmin and husband Carl Clift of Bentonville, Ark., Eric Sebastian of Syracuse, N.Y., and Christina Sebastian of New York, N.Y.; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Tugman of Stafford, Va.

In addition to her husband, Howard, she was preceded in death by six brothers, infant Clifford, Ray Sunderlin, Walter Sunderlin, James Sunderlin, Carl Sunderlin and Howard Sunderlin; and three sisters, infants Gertrude and Isabel and Hattie Beatty.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013,at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mahaffey.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Freedline's name to the First Church of God, 23 Skyview Dr., Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
