Harry A. Young, 78, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

He was born Jan. 10, 1934, in DuBois, a son of the late John and Priscilla (Charlton) Young.

Dec. 1, 1955, he married Barbara Ann (Broecker) Young, who survives.

Mr. Young worked as a driller for the coal industry, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his dog, Shadow.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include his children, Paul T. Young, Russ G. Young, Lori Ann Deshong and husband Butch, Tom R. Young and wife Sue, John B. Young and wife Pamela, Robert D. Young and wife Patty, Ben A. Young and wife Michele, Ann C. Young, Lisa A. Sprankle and husband Steve, and Liz A. Young; a brother Thomas G. Young; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Young.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
