Harry Edward Smith, 63, of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

He was born Jan. 27, 1950, in Indiana, Pa., a son of the late Ord and Nora Leona (Dishong) Smith.

He was a mechanic by trade.

He was married to Jean (McMillin) Smith, who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a sergeant during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Douglas Smith and wife, Heather of DuBois and Brad Smith of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Mrs. Scotty (Angie) Green of Penfield, Pa.; five brothers, Tom Smith and wife Karen of Evansville, Ind., Barry Smith and wife Johnna of Apache Junction, Ariz., Garry Smith and wife Dawn of Ogden, Utah, Ord Smith and wife Glenda of Liverpool, Pa., and Ron Smith and wife Chris of Tanoma, Pa; six sisters, Inez Smith and partner Ron Buterbaugh of Purchase Line, Pa.; Ellen Penfield of Hartstown, Pa.; Brenda Gallaher of Brush Valley, Pa.; Sarah Benco of Gloucester, Va.; Mrs. Tom (Donna) Betzold of Clymer, Pa.; and Mrs. Bob (Kim) Green of Evansville, Ind.

He is also survived by seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Smith; a brother, Paul Smith; and a sister, Martha Berryman.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Calvin Duvall officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Jefferson County Veterans’ Honor Guard.
