Harry D. Sebring, 85, Knox Dale, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Knox Township, a son of the late C. Earl Sebring and Venice (Shoffner) Sebring.
Sept. 17, 1946, he married Patty J. Dinger, who preceded him in death Sept. 3, 2010.
Mr. Sebring was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He worked as a sawyer and carpenter and later retired from the Pennsylvania Fish & Game Commission.
Mr. Sebring was a member of the Center Hill Community Church in Knox Dale, and a charter member of the Knox Township Volunteer Fire Department, in which he served as an officer in various positions.
He enjoyed building toys and furniture for his grandchildren, and loved country and gospel music.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, June Marlene Miller of Brookville, Deanna L. Flick and husband Kenneth of Clearfield, and Vickie J. Talbot of Brookville; a son, William S. Sebring and wife Jacqueline of Brookville; three brothers, Charles Keith Sebring of Montana, Edwin Duane Sebring of Knox Dale, and James Lane Sebring of Monroeville; two sisters, Janet C. Evans of Brookville, and Joan M. Allshouse of Conneaut Lake; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Sue Sebring; and a brother, Richard Gale Sebring.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Guy Felmlee officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knox Dale.
