Harriet M. “Hattie” Getch, 97

Harriet M. Getch, 97, Anita, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 19, 1915, in Helvetia, Pa., a daughter of the late Andrew and Violet (Broadbent) Jacobson.

On Nov. 19, 1933, she married Joseph N. Getch, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1983.

She was a member of the Anita Assembly of God Church in Anita.

She was a member of the Good News Club and Vacation Bible Club, and she taught the Adult Sunday School Class.

She was a housewife and a loving mother.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Velma Getch of Anita, Diana Startzell and husband Bill of Big Run, and Carolyn Meckley and husband Mike of Mahaffey; five sons, Joseph A. “Bud” Getch of Anita, Robert “Jake” Getch and wife Deborah of Anita, David Getch and wife Sandy of Pittsburgh, Greg Getch of Anita, and Reverend Lloyd Getch and wife Marlene of Anita; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Getch and John “Sonny” Getch; two daughters, Donna Snyder and Barbara Anthony; and three brothers, Lloyd, Andrew, and Edward Jacobson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the funeral home with her son Reverend Lloyd E. Getch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Mrs. Getch’s memory, to DRMC Hospice, 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, Pa. 15801.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
