Harold W. Schurr, 82

Harold W. Schurr, 82, passed into heaven in the early morning of Nov. 23, 2012, at Lillington Hospice with his bride, Annabell, by his side.

He was born on July 29, 1930, in Home, Pa., a son of George and Blanche Schurr.

Harold served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947 to 1951 during the Korean War, leaving with an honorable discharge.

He then joined the B&O Railroad and retired after 33 years of service.

He and his wife then decided to move to Sanford, N.C., to enjoy their retirement years.

Harold loved to fish and enjoyed several years of fishing in local lakes.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Annabell; and his four children, Harold B. Schurr, Cathy Schurr (Keith Fancher), Cindy Fuhrmann and Linda Leone (David); eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

The Schurr family would like to express their deep thanks to the ladies (“angels”) at E. Carlton Powell Hospice Center for the loving, gentle care they provided Harold and the family.
