Harold Leroy Blystone, 77

Harold Leroy Blystone, 77, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born March 15, 1934, in Center Township, Indiana County, a son of the late Blaine and Lilly Catherine (Butler) Blystone.

He was Methodist by faith.

Mr. Blystone worked as a farm hand on various farms in Pennsylvania and New York.

He enjoyed collecting cassette tapes and videos. He also liked to cook, especially fried green tomatos.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Alverta Mae States and husband Allen of Punxsutawney, and Margaret Louise Rosenberger and husband Amos of Knox Dale; three brothers, Billy Raymond Blystone of Blairsville, Richard Blaine Blystone of Norfolk, Va., and Terry Lee Blystone and wife Clara of Commodore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald “Duck” Eugene Blystone.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Doug Wolfe.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
