Harold “Tot” Stanley Geist, 83

Harold “Tot” Stanley Geist, 83, passed away March 7, 2012, in Mayport.

He was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Ringgold Township, a son of the late Paul Stanley and Cozie Viola (Troutman) Geist.

He was married to Isabell L. (Wyant) Geist, who survives.

Mr. Geist was a coal miner and logger by trade.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Randy L. Geist of Mayport; two daughters, Jane A. Shumaker of Mayport and Ruth E. Hinkle of Worthville; a brother, Robert Geist of Brookville; three sisters, Ethel Schantz and Goldie Hicks, both of Punxsutawney, and Lois Elkin of Big Run; four grandchildren, Seth and Amber Shumaker, and Becky Hinkle and Willie Hinkle; three great-grandaughters, Niki, Nathalie and Lilly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Eugene, Clair and Carl Geist; and a sister, Marie Newcome.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald J. Pendley officiating.

Interment will be in the Worthville Cemetery.
