H. Louise Vandervort, 65

H. Louise Vandervort, 65, of Sykesville, passed away, Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. Vandervort was born Nov. 8, 1948, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Genevieve and Bob Roach.

She is survived by her husband, Frank J. Vandervort. They were married on Nov. 3, 1965.

Louise loved to crochet, sew, play bingo and spend time with her family and her favorite dog, Spirit.

In addition to her husband, Frank, she is survived by three daughters, Susan Christian and husband James of Punxsutawney, Sheila Hartless and husband Ronald of Rossiter and Sonia Dixon and husband William of Clearfield; three brothers, Edward Bining of Coraopolis, Timothy Bining of Shippensburg and Robert Bining of Harrisburg; four sisters, Barbara Hilczmayer of Buffalo, N.Y., Bonnie Wagner of Massilon, Ohio, Susan Voison of Celine, Ohio, and April Clark of Everett; five grandchildren, Kara L. Hollenbaugh, Jonna L. Burkett and husband Tom, Kristy M. Marshall, Jenna L. Adams and Shealynn M. Powell; six great-grandchildren, Brent Hollenbaugh, Makayla Pierce, Mark Rand III, Aaliyah Rand, Camden Rand and Deja Burkett.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber R. Zeedick; two brothers, Donald and Samuel Fox; and two step-brothers, Robert and Elmer Roach.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Whitaker officiating.

Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
