Guy R. Siverling, Sr., 81, Punxsutawney, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Oliveburg, a son of the late Carlos and Irene (Means) Siverling.

Nov. 14, 1951, in Valier, he married Geraldine L. Phillips, who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was a coal miner and trucker who retired in 1988.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two sons, Guy R. Siverling Jr. and wife Tracy of Summerville, and Timothy Siverling and wife Zina of DuBois; two sisters, Beulah Depp and husband Archie of Punxsutawney and Alice Himes; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Phillip Siverling and Alice Hogg.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Glenn C. McQuown officiating.

Interment will be in St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery with full military honors accorded.
