CLARION — There are usually many reasons why a team loses only two games in an entire season.

On Saturday, two of the biggest reasons were guards Keserra Owens and Ali Rinfrette, who propelled the Bradford Lady Owls to their second District IX AAA girls’ basketball title in a row with a 56-31 final score over the Punxsy Lady Chucks.

“Bradford’s two guards — Owens and Rinfrette — were the key today,” said Punxsy head coach Randy Reitz. “They played very well. Bradford is a solid basketball team.”

That solid basketball team, which has now claimed victories in 20 of 22 games on the year, will be the lone D-IX representative in the state playoffs.

Punxsy, though, held tough for the championship’s opening 14:40.
