Grace A. Priester Brown, 89

Grace A. Priester Brown, 89, of North East, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born Dec. 18, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Charles and Cora Priester.

Grace married Robert D. Brown in January 1942 and moved to North East in 1950.

She previously worked at several local restaurants and retired from A&B Service in 2005.

Her hobbies included gardening, traveling and always caring for her family. She was well known for her pies.

Grace was a longtime member of the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert D. Brown; children Robert C. Brown and wife Mary, Donald C. Brown and wife Marilynn, and Karen Ahlgrim and husband Mark, all of North East, and Larry E. Brown and wife Donna Morrison of Harborcreek; grandchildren Scott Brown, Diane Villa, Tina Muskey, Shelly Rivello, Erin Yanosko, Heather Polanski, Alex Brown and Courtney Morrison; great-grandchildren Nicole Muskey and Anthony and Elias Rivello; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Priester in 2007; and a sister, Mildred Shaffer in 2012.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Twinbrook Medical Center for its care and concern for Grace over the past months.
