Glenn O. Snyder, 97

Glenn O. Snyder, 97, of Mayport (North Freedom), died on Tuesday evening, Sept. 25, 2012, at the Clarion Hospital.

He was born on January 26, 1915, in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County, the son of James C. and Otie E. (Wise) Snyder.

He married Geraldine L. (Miller) on Sept. 26, 1936, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 13, 1985.

Glenn was a member of the North Freedom United Methodist Church. He spent his life farming and belonged to the National Farmers Organization. He enjoyed bowling, baseball, croquet, dogs and playing Flinch. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by a daughter, Shirley Raybuck; a grandson, Randy Raybuck; two granddaughters, Gaylene Kennedy and her husband Brian and Michelle Shick and her husband Kim all of Mayport; and five great grandchildren, Randon Chase Raybuck, Kent Shick, Joshua Shick, Kimberly Shick and Shaylee Kennedy.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Geraldine, Glenn was preceded in death by a sister, Alberta Coleman and four brothers, Melvin, Elton, Russell, and Guy Snyder.

Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Duffee officiating. Interment will be in the North Freedom Cemetery, Ringgold Twp. Jefferson County.
