Glenn Marlin Divins, 76

Glenn Marlin Divins, 76, DuBois, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 9, 1934, in DuBois, a son of the late Robert Fred and Helen Louise (Thompson) Divins.

He was first married to Mary Katherine (Muth) Divins, who passed away Nov. 24, 1981. Sept. 10, 1983, he married Grace M. R. (Huson) Divins, who survives. They were married at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Punxsutawney by the Rev. David Schmidt.

He was a member of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Divins graduated from Sandy High School and worked for Bell Telephone from Dec. 22, 1952, until he retired Dec. 26, 1992.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, the Garfield Lodge No. 559, and the Bell Telephone Pioneers.

Mr. Divins enjoyed playing baseball, football and basketball, and he collected LP records.

He enjoyed all music, such as religious, country/western and even some opera.

Mr. Divins enjoyed reading religious books and End Time books.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a brother, Robert T. Divins and wife Glenda of DuBois; two sisters, Georgia Becht and husband Charles of Milroy, In., and Helen “Cindy” Mann and husband Roger of Mt. Calm, Tx.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a baby sister, Kaye Louise Divins.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel, Inc., and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the church with the Rev. Ron Lindahl officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at the church by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

The Telecom Pioneers will hold a service at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010.

A Masonic service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, by the Garfield Lodge No. 559.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Youth Group, 16 Denton Ave., DuBois, Pa., 15801.
