Ginger Lee Poorman, 62

Ginger Lee Poorman, 62, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1951, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and was raised the daughter of Ivan and Mabel Lansberry.

On Sept. 15, 1967, she married William Henry Poorman, Jr., who survives.

Ginger previously enjoyed volunteering for Community Action, Inc. She was awarded a plaque for her service.

She enjoyed playing Bingo, drawing and sewing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, William H. Poorman III and fiance Jerica Acker of Williamstown, Pa., and Kimberly Culberson and husband Mark of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Jerry St. Clair, Tyler Gummo and wife Brianna, Chase, Billie Jo, and Ivonna Poorman, and Tabitha Gummo; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Glass of Center Hall; two brothers, Joseph Hogencamp and wife Ellen of Axeman and Mike Butcher of Bellefonte.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Holly Ann Poorman, and a brother, Ivan Lansberry.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney, officiated by Captains Keith & Katie Jache.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home.
