Gilbert Michael “Junie” Piszker, 77, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Anita, a son of the late Gelly and Annie (Reves) Piszker.

He was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.

Mr. Piszker was a friendly and kind-spirited man. He enjoyed playing the lottery and keeping track of sports.

In his younger years, he was a member of the Anita Baseball team, and he liked paint-by-numbers oil painting.

Surviving relatives include a brother, William Piszker of Philadelphia; two sisters, Anna E. Bianco of Punxsutawney and Margaret E. Burtscher of Akron, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Joseph, James, Stephen, Phillip, Johnny, Andrew and Francis Piszker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Church, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Riccardo.
Interment will follow at Adrian Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery.
