Spring is a season of hope, and for avid runners and walkers in the area, the Run/Walk for Someone Special event is a chance to support a great cause.

The event will be held on April 7 in Sykesville with registration at 1:30 p.m. at the Town Hall.

The race will begin at 3 p.m.

Robindale Energy is sponsoring the event, and all proceeds stay local and will benefit children and adults with special needs through the Arc of Clearfield/Jefferson counties and Camp Friendship.

Pictured are the volunteers and members of the committee who are helping to organize the event: (front, from left) Isaac Hanzley, Caleb Hanzley; (back) Erin Cameron, Harper Cameron, Aiden Cameron, Jennifer Roberts, Tristin Hanzely, Stacy Hanzley (Run/Walk for Someone Special committee executive director), Camille Hanzley and John Orsich.
