George L. Kunselman, 80

George L. Kunselman, 80, Hamilton, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born May 28, 1933, in Sprankle Mills, a son of the late Oral and Mary Edna (Black) Kunselman.

On April 26, 1957, he married Laura A. (Neville) Kunselman, who survives.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps and served during the Korean War.

He attended the Hamilton United Methodist Church.

He was a member of the Masons, the V.F.W. and the Perry Township Sportsmen’s Club.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and also helped run the fish hatchery.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two daughters, Jean Poerio of Punxsutawney, and Janice Kelsey and husband Craig of Punxsutawney; a grandson, Jesse Poerio and wife Cheyanne of Punxsutawney; a granddaughter, Jade Kelsey of Punxsutawney; a great-grandson, Deacon Peorio; three brothers, Lorraine Kunselman and wife Mary Jane of Erie, James Kunselman of Erie, and Ralph Kunselman and wife Kathy of Colorado; and a sister, Floy Steele of Indiana, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Oral Jr., Charles, Bernard, Alvin and Harry Kunselman; and two sisters, Isabelle Galbraith and Eleanor Kunselman.

A private family memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, with Charles Kunselman, Jr. officiating.

Interment will be at North Point Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mr. Kunselman, to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Patient Care Fund, 81 Hillcrest Drive, Punxsutawney, PA 15767, or to the Hamilton United Methodist Church, Hamilton, PA 15744.
