George F. Krouse, 77

George F. Krouse, 77, Swan Lake, Minn., died Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, Minn.

He was born Nov. 8, 1932, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late George and Emma (Wolfe) Krouse.

He was married to Ann Krouse, who survives.

Mr. Krouse was a 1955 graduate of Penn State University and employed as an engineer for many places, most recently with National Steel Pellet Company in Keewatin, Minn., where he retired in 1995.

He was a longtime resident of the Swan Lake area and a member of the Nashwauk Lutheran Church; a former member of the Northern Minnesota Engineers Club; a life member of the NRA; and a member of Sons of Norway.

Mr. Krouse loved hunting, fishing and gardening as his pastimes, as well as spending time with his grandsons.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Daniel Krouse and wife Vicki of Maple Grove, Minn.; a daughter, Susan Krouse of Hastings, Minn.; two brothers, Glenn Krouse and wife Nancy of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Charles O. Krouse and wife Phebe of DuBois; two grandsons, Lee Krouse and Jack Krouse, both of Maple Grove; his in-laws, Maynard Moe and wife Betty of Menominee, Wis., Eva Moe of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Viola Moe of Ripon, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at noon Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at the Nashwauk Lutheran Church in Nashwauk, Minn., where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. that day with the Rev. Jean Megorden officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Nashwauk Lutheran Church in Nashwauk, or to the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, Minn.
