Genevieve L. Edwards, 87

Genevieve L. Edwards, 87, of Indiana, formerly of Clymer and Pittsburgh, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at her home.

Born Jan. 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Gocal) Kubecker.

She was the widow of John Milton Edwards, who died in 1988.

For many years, she had been the organist at St. Anthony’s Church in Clymer.

Jenny volunteered at the Indiana Guidance Center; was a member of AARP’s Evergreen Chapter; and belonged to the Indiana Players, Indiana Arts Council Suverna Dance Troupe and the Indiana Genealogical & Historical Society.

While living in Indiana, she had been a secretary for the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company and was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church.

She led a long and happy life and will be greatly missed by the following children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Children include Mary Crilley and husband Duane of Pittsburgh and William Edwards and wife Mary Curran of Clinton, Conn., Joseph Edwards and wife Belle of Seattle, Wash., James Edwards and wife Laura of Glen Campbell and Robert Edwards and wife, Carla of Indiana; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Genevieve was preceded in death by her one brother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Inc., 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, Indiana, with the Rev. Thomas Federline as celebrant.

Interment will be at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township, Pittsburgh.
