Gaynelle (Nanz) Borts, 93, Punxsutawney, died Monday, May 2, 2011, at Mahoning Riverside Manor, Punxsutawney.

She was born July 1, 1917, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late William F. Nanz and LaRue (Bhe) Nanz Thomas.

June 17, 1944, she married Marley B. Borts, who preceded her in death Oct. 7, 2008.

Mrs. Borts was a life member of the First English Lutheran Church.

Surviving relatives include a son, Lee Borts and wife Darlene (Stear) of Wellsboro; a daughter, Arlene Lowmaster and husband William of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Gregory Borts, Melanie Williamson, Lisa Mennetti and Kara Lowmaster; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-brother, William Thomas.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Maureen Seifried officiating.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery.

Memorials in Mrs. Borts' memory can be made to the First English Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
