Gary B. Travis, 48

Gary B. Travis, 48, Reynoldsville, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, following an auto accident along Route 36, near Punxsutawney.

He was born Oct. 5, 1962, in DuBois, a son of Marie (Manners) Travis, who survives, of Reynoldsville, and the late Nolan Travis.

Mr. Travis was employed by Smith Drilling, where he was a well driller, and he was a member of the Eagles Club, Walston Club and St. Joseph Club.
He loved the outdoors, as well as both hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, surviving relatives include two daughters, Jessica Sharp of Pittsburgh, and Lauren Travis of Reynoldsville; four brothers, Ken Travis of Reynoldsville, James Travis and wife Michele of Punxsutawney, Rick Travis and wife Tammy of Punxsutawney, and Terry Travis and wife Pip of Reynoldsville; five sisters, Carol Gaston and husband Ed, and Nancy Hicks and husband Donald, all of Rochester Mills, Patty Lingenfelter and Ron McHenry of Falls Creek, Donna Sears, and Beverly Hale and Jim Waite, all of Punxsutawney; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Travis.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the funeral home with Joseph Buterbaugh officiating.

Interment will be in Center Hill Cemetery, Knox Dale.
