Fred D. Runco, 66, Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at UPMC-Mercy, Pittsburgh.

He was born Aug. 1, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, a son of the late Dominic and Colomba “Clo” (Perfili) Runco.

March 14, 1972, he married Linda (Smith) Runco of Punxsutawney, who survives.

Mr. Runco was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church.

He loved the outdoors, wildlife and fishing.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a daughter, Jennifer R. Yankasky and husband Craig of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Domenic F. Runco Jr. and wife Nancy, and Anthony J. Runco and wife Renee, all of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Laura M. Wood of Punxsutawney and Linda J. Holmes and husband Jack of Coldwater, Miss.; and a grandson, Cameron Yankasky of Punxsutawney.

At the family’s request, there will be no viewing.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Charles Kaza as celebrant.

Donations may be made to the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
