Frank C. Cackowski, 74

Frank C. Cackowski, 74, of Rochester Mills, formerly of Latrobe, passed away Friday, Oct. 5, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Cackowski was born Jan. 3, 1939, in Loylahanna, Pa., a son of the late Marcus and Mary (Kubistek) Cackowski.

He was married to Barbara E. (Pluchinsky) Cackowski, who survives, of Rochester Mills. They were married Dec. 22, 1978.

He was a member of SS. Cosmas & Damian Catholic Church.

Frank was retired after 42 years at Latrobe Steel, and after retirement, he became interested in beef farming.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening and giving away any excess produce to those who needed it.

He also loved going to his camp in Cameron County.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his son, Dr. Frank Cameron Cackowski and wife Candace of Ypsilanti, Mich.; one brother, Edward Cackowski and wife Margaret of Latrobe; two sisters, Agnes Onusko of Youngstown, Pa., and Mary Hall of Derry; and three beloved grandchildren; Nathan, Elizabeth and Todd Cackowski of Michigan.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at SS. Cosmas & Damian Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
