Frances N. Mayo, 93

Frances N. Mayo, 93, died Monday, March 3, 2014, in Austin, Texas, after several years of declining health.

She was born in Sportsburg Jan. 13, 1921, and lived her life in Punxsutawney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Mayo. They operated Mayo's Market on Ridge Avenue for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother and friend and was happiest when helping others.

She enjoyed reading, singing in the church choir and dancing.

She is survived by her children, Diane Sarda and husband Tom of Burlington, N.C., Dave Mayo of Charlottesville, Va., and Rick Mayo and wife Maria of Austin, Texas; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special niece Carol Curry and nephew Gene Beezer.

A church service will be held in Austin, Texas, where she resided the last years of her life.
