Frances Magdalene Manco, 92, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at Mahoning Riverside Manor.

She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Adrian, a daughter of the late Samuel and Johanna (Canton) Caridi.

Oct. 3, 1942, she married Santo Manco, who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2002.

She was a former organist for St. Adrian’s Church and taught piano lessons in the Punxsutawney area for more than 35 years.

She loved art and music and all things domestic: cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting.

She was especially known for her Italian pizzelles and her hand-stitched, award-winning Cathedral-style quilts.

She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church of Punxsutawney.

Surviving relatives include a son, James Manco and wife Maria of Erie; a daughter, Joann Kujawa and husband Thomas of Winona, Minn.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Tony Caridi of Punxsutawney; a sister, Rose Ranieri of Punxsutawney; a brother-in-law, Edward Manco of Wishaw; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary; and an infant son, Patrick Manco.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
